VW 6-Cylinder DOHC (Corrado, Passant, Golf)

VW-6-6000: For street use, these cams provide gobs of torque and acceleration. The best power range is 2200-6000 and they will rev to 6800. INTAKE: 20/52     EXHAUST 56/18     DURATION: 260     LIFT: .430

    Necessary mods: PAECO springs and retainers

VR-6--6500: This grind gives very strong acceleration in the 3000-6500 RPM range, and will rev to 7500 RPM, giving a nice boost in top speed. INTAKE: 28/70     EXHAUST 68/30     DURATION: 278     LIFT: .460"

    Necessary mods: 10-11:1 compression, PAECO springs and retainers, exhaust header (A modified cylinder head, aluminum flywheel, and richer carburetion will give even more power).

VR -6-7200: This grind is for racing only, and gives fantastic power in the 4000-7200 RPM range, with a peak of 8000 RPM. Great for SCCA racing.  INTAKE: 43/71     EXHAUST 84/40     DURATION: 294     LIFT: .503"

    Necessary mods: 12-14:1 compression, fully modified cylinder heads, PAECO springs and retainers, racing ignition, exhaust header, increased carburetion, aluminum flywheel, high ratio rear axle.

VW Rabbit, Scirocco, Jetta 4-cylinder

VWR-6000: This street grind gives good torque and acceleration in the 2200-6000 RPM range, with a peak of 7000. It is not temperamental, and has a fast, smooth idle.  INTAKE: 22/58     EXHAUST 62/18     DURATION: 260     LIFT: .364"

    Necessary mods: PAECO valve springs and retainers (an exhaust header, Primapower system, racing ignition, Weber carb and slight compression boost, and an aluminum flywheel will all add power, but are optional).

VWR-6800: For slaloms and hard street use, this grind gives very strong acceleration and a nice boost in top speed. Best power range is 2800-6600, with a peak at 7400 RPM.  INTAKE: 27/63     EXHAUST 67/23     DURATION: 270     LIFT: .390

    Necessary mods: 10-11:1 compression, PAECO springs and retainers, exhaust header, Primapower system, racing ignition (Weber carbs and a modified cylinder head, and aluminum flywheel will add even more power, but are not mandatory).

VWR-7800: For racing only, this cam gives tremendous power throughout the 3500-7200 RPM range, and peaks at 7800 RPM. Highly recommended for Super Vee racing.  INTAKE: 33/65     EXHAUST 76/28     DURATION: 277     LIFT: .400"

    Mandatory mods: 11-13:1 compression, fully modified cylinder head, full PAECO valve train, exhaust header, racing ignition, improved carburetion, high ratio rear axle.

NOTE #1: PAECO springs and retainers must be used together. 

NOTE #2: New shims will be necessary to achieve proper valve lash. You must install the new cam in your cylinder head to determine the sizes of shims you that you will need. Then call us and we can then provide them for you in any size.
