    WHY A STROKER? Increasing the displacement of an engine is a sure and reliable way of obtaining a power boost. This is obtained by lengthening the stroke of the crankshaft, enlarging the bore size of the pistons, and raising the compression ratio of the pistons. Power boosts of 30 to 40% are achieved, and most of it is in the form of torque, which provides greater power and acceleration. Since these kits are made up on order, they can be furnished with any size stroke increase, and any piston size overbore and compression ratio. The choice is yours, and stroker kits can be made up for any engine.  The list shown on this page is only a small sample of the cars that we can furnish stroker kits for. The overbore and stroke increases are shown as a guideline. Stroker kits for most 4-cylinder engines will cost $1799.00, and those for most 6-cylinder engines will cost $2,599.00, 8- cylinder kits are $3,199.00, and 12- c6ylinder kits are $3,499.00. These are exchange prices, and assume that you will be sending in your old crankshaft. If you don't send in your old crank, then  a core charge will be added.

A KIT CONSISTS OF:

     1. Stroked Paecolloy crankshaft: The crankshaft is built to standard size journals with the hard nickel-chrome alloy and the stroke is increased to the appropriate length. The crank is then glasspeened to stress relieve it and balanced.

    2. Stroker oversize pistons: Forged pistons are made with the wristpin hole located higher up in the piston to accommodate the longer stroke. This allows you to use your stock rods instead of having to order special length rods. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE SPECIAL RODS TO USE OUR STROKER KITS! You also get to choose what size overbore you want and what compression pistons you want at no extra cost! The overbore sizes listed below are just examples - you can pick any overbore size that you want.

   3. A set of Deves racing piston rings: The Deves rings provide better sealing power and less friction than standard rings. We can normally pick up several HP on the dyno just by switching to the Deves piston rings.

   4. Payment & Delivery Time: Stroker kits must be paid for in advance. Since they are special order, strokers cannot be done on a COD basis. It takes an absolute minimum of eight to ten weeks to make the pistons and process the crankshaft for a stroker kit. Please allow for this when you plan your engine rebuild.

 Ordering a stroker kit: It's best to call when ordering a stroker.  Tell the person who answers that you want to order a stroker kit. They will connect you with a tech rep who will help you arrive at the correct bore, stroke, and compression ratio for your application.
