Saab 99, 900, & 9000 SOHC 8-valve engines:
SA-6000: This street cam is designed to give more torque and acceleration without being temperamental. The best power range is 2500-6000 and it will rev to 6500. INTAKE: 22/60 EXHAUST: 62/20 DURATION: 262 LIFT: .440"
Necessary mods: PAECO springs and retainers. A one-point boost in compression, racing ignition, exhaust header, and aluminum flywheel will all add even more power but are not mandatory.
SA-6500: This grind is for slaloms and strong street use. The best power range is 2800-6500 and it will rev to 7200. Both acceleration and top speed are greatly increased. INTAKE: 27/63 EXHAUST: 67/23 DURATION: 270 LIFT: .455"
Necessary mods: PAECO springs and retainers, 11:1 compression, racing ignition, free-flow exhaust. Optional: modified cylinder head, copper head gasket, aluminum flywheel, chrome-moly rods.
SA-7200: For racing only, this cam gives very strong acceleration in the 3300-7500 range and will rev to 7800. It gives tremendous power coming out of the corners. INTAKE: 43/72 EXHAUST: 74/41 DURATION: 295 LIFT: 478"
Necessary mods: PAECO springs and titanium retainers, 12:1 compression, modified cylinder head, increased carburetion, exhaust header, copper head gasket, chrome-moly or titanium con rods. Optional: Aluminum flywheel
SA-7800: For all-out racing at the top levels, this cam is a screamer. It delivers fantastic power in the 4000-7800 range and will rev to 8400. INTAKE: 46/76 EXHAUST: 76/46 DURATION: 302 LIFT: .498"
Necessary mods: PAECO springs and titanium retainers, 13:1 compression, modified cylinder head, increased carburetion, exhaust header, copper head gasket, chrome-moly or titanium con rods, aluminum flywheel.
SAAB SOHC CAMS AND VALVE TRAIN:
All cam grinds: $230 ground on customer's core ('sorry, no exchange). Specify whether mechanical or hydraulic valve adjustment.
Inner valve springs: $4.00 each Outer valve springs: $8.00 each Aluminum retainers: $8.00 each Titanium retainers: $25.00 each
Valve adjusting shims: $12.00 each NOTE: For mechanical valve adjustment, shims are necessary to achieve the proper lash. You can determine the sizes of the shims that you will need after installing the cam in the head, and then call us for them. Shims can be made up in any desired thickness.
Saab Twin-Cam 16-valve engines
SAT-6600: This mild street grind provides increased acceleration without being temperamental. It has a smooth, although slightly fast idle. Best power range is 2800-6600 and it will rev to 7000. INTAKE: 34/74 EXHAUST: 78/30 DURATION: 288 LIFT: .360"
Necessary mods: PAECO springs and retainers. (A one-point compression boost, racing ignition, and aluminum flywheel will all add extra power but are not mandatory.)
SAT-7400: For slaloms and wild street use, these cams will provide tremendous acceleration and a nice boost in top end. Best power range is 3200-7400 with a top of 7800. Idle is lopey. INTAKE: 44/76 EXHAUST: 80/40 DURATION: 300 LIFT:.375"
Necessary mods: PAECO springs and retainers, 11:1 compression, EXHAUST header, racing ignition, modified cylinder head. Optional: copper head gasket, chrome-moly rods, aluminum flywheel.
SAT-8200: For racing only, these cams provide tremendous power throughout the 4200-8200 RPM range and will rev to 8600. INTAKE: 52/84 EXHAUST: 88/48 DURATION: 316 LIFT: .415".
