MAIN CAP BARS & GIRDLE REINFORCEMENT:
At high RPM the main caps have to withstand tremendous force, as the total power output of the engine is bearing down on them. Caps sometimes break or pull out of the block, with catastrophic results. To combat this, we install re-inforcing bars across the main caps to keep them from breaking, and use a girdle to give the entire main cap web stability.
THE PROCEDURE:
MAIN CAP GIRDLE INSTALLED First the tops of the main caps are milled down to
provide a flat mounting surface for the reinforcing bars. Then the bars are bolted down over the caps
with extra long high strength studs or bolts. Finally, longitudinal runners are
welded to the bars to provide stability. The result is a very strong girdle that
will withstand high RPM, high compression ratios, and high turbo boost.

HOW TO ORDER: If you want only the reinforcing bars then you only have to send us your main caps. We will mill them flat and then fabricate the bars to go on top of them. If you want the complete girdle, then you must send the block with main caps, bolts, oil pan, oil pickup, and anything else that resides in the block that might interfere with the girdle. We will fabricate the girdle and send the block back to you with the girdle in place. REINFORCING BARS
