BMW (4-cylinder & 6-cylinder) SOHC
BMW-6400: This is a great cam for the street when few or no other modifications are being made to the engine. It provides tremendous acceleration and a mild boost in top speed. Best power range is 2600-6400, and it will rev to 7200 rpm. INTAKE: 34/66 EXHAUST: 70/30 DURATION: 280 LIFT: .435"
NECESSARY MODS: PAECO springs (an exhaust header and a free flow muffler system will provide even more power).
BMW-7800: This grind has a very broad torque curve and provides strong acceleration throughout the rpm range, plus a good increase in top speed. It is recommended for slaloms, solo events, and hard road use. The best power range is 4000-7800 and it will rev to 8200 rpm. INTAKE: 43/75 EXHAUST: 79/39 DURATION: 298 LIFT: .450
NECESSARY MODS: 11:1 compression, exhaust header, racing ignition, PAECO springs and retainers. (A modified cylinder head, Weber carb, and free flow muffler system will provide additional power from mid-range on up).
BMW-8500: This grind is for the experienced engine builder, and provides tremendous power in the 4500-8500 rpm range. It will rev to 9000 if the engine is properly built. INTAKE: 48/80 EXHAUST:84/44 DURATION: 308 LIFT: .453"
NECESSARY MODS: 12:1 or more compression, full PAECO valve train, extractor exhaust header, racing ignition, increased carburetion, fully modified cylinder head, high ratio rear end.

M-7500: This a good, torquey street grind for a stock engine. The best power range is 2600-7500 with a maximum RPM of 8000. INTAKE: 32/62 EXHAUST: 62/32 DURATION: 274 LIFT: .387"
NECESSARY MODS: PAECO valve springs & retainers (an exhaust header, racing ignition, or modified head will add additional power, but are optional).
M-8000: This grind is for slaloms, solo events, and hard street use - gives tremendous acceleration. Best power is 3200-8000 and will rev to 8600 RPM. INTAKE: 37/68 EXHAUST: 73/32 DURATION: 285 LIFT: .400"
NECESSARY MODS: 11.5:1 compression, racing ignition, exhaust headers, and PAECO springs and retainers. A modified cylinder head will provide additional power.
M-8600: For racing only, this cam provides terrific acceleration out of the corners. The best power range is 4000-8600, and it will rev to 9000 rpm. Great for SCCA racing! INTAKE: 36/72 EXHAUST: 74/34 DURATION: 288 LIFT: .430"
NECESSARY MODS: 13:1 compression, racing ignition, exhaust header, modified cylinder head, PAECO springs & retainers.
M-9000: This cam is for well prepared high rpm engines only. It delivers tremendous power in the 5000-9000 rpm range and will rev to 9500, but frequent bearing changes will be required. INTAKE: 42/73 EXHAUST: 77/38 DURATION: 295 LIFT: .434"
NECESSARY MODS: 13.5:1 compression or more, fully modified head, exhaust headers, PAECO springs and retainers, racing ignition, increased carburetion, high ratio rear axle.
